What is important for couples to be aware of?
Have you decided to have an outdoor ceremony, with the sand between your toes or under a big fig tree??
Where ever your ceremony is, outdoor weddings are romantic and beautiful. Here are our hot tips for the perfect wedding ceremony in our beautiful outdoor surroundings.
  1. Make your guests comfortable Think about what the weather will likely be at the time of day and month of the year of your outdoor wedding. Sunny and hot? Don't leave your guests uncomfortably melting - have your wedding coordinator give guests ice-cold bottles of water as they are seated. Consider printing your wedding program on a fan so that guests may cool themselves. Don't forget to have plenty of sunscreen on hand as well. For a very warm location, look at hiring parasols from us or even large market umbrellas to provide some shade. Don't forget about you too, on a hot sunny summer day we recommend our four post archways so you and your fiance can stand up and feel comfortable when exchanging your vows & sharing your first kiss as husband & wife.
  2. Have a backup plan What will you do if it rains? We always discuss with you prior to the day a wet weather wedding plan. It usually is at the reception venue but we also have other options like hotel/resort venues or church/chapels. Talk to your wedding coordinator about what is the best option for you. When is the decision made?  Depending on set up and wet weather plan this can be between 2 to 4 hours before your ceremony. What happens to the set up I chose? We endeavour to make you feel just like you wanted on your special day & you have everything you imagined. We will style everything just as normal to ensure you get the same atmosphere you had anticipated. How will my guest know where to go?  Make sure you have someone who can send a quick message to all your guest in the event it should rain. Prior to the day the person chosen to distribute the message should add a group with all the guest contact numbers in their phone to easily select on the day if needed. But don't worry its like Chinese whispers your guest will find out!
  3. Plan for Wind Many beach outdoor weddings suffer from windy conditions. Avoid light fabrics like chiffons and china silks in your dress and the bridesmaid dresses. Tell your hairstylist that you'll be having an outdoor wedding so she/he can plan a style that won't leave you looking like Cousin It! We have different styling options for beach and garden to suit those windy conditions, so ask us how we can help to make sure you have the perfect wedding weather it be still or windy.
  4. Can everybody hear? When you picture your dream wedding at the beach, you're probably not hearing the roaring of the waves, the rushing wind, or the local kids running and screaming around you. Look into renting a PA system with built in wind shock for the mic if your officiator doesn't already have one included in their ceremony package. There is nothing worse then a dodgy PA system & guest not being able to hear your vows.
  5. Tides Don't forget to check your local tide guide if your having a beach wedding. This will help you determine the time you should have your wedding ceremony & the positioning of your set up.
  6. Those pesky flying things Be sure ton a hot damp day to put out mosquito repellent so that your guests won't spend the whole ceremony swatting at the air.
  7. Here comes the sun Consider timing your outdoor wedding for afternoon/sunset time where your guests will see you take your vows surrounded by the warm glow of the sun & with a cool breeze. Those having a daytime outdoor wedding should orient the ceremony so that the sun will be on guests' backs rather than in their eyes. We also recommend to talk to your photographer about timing of your ceremony & sunlight.
  8. Permits Don't forget to contact your council department to get a permit for an outdoor wedding. Be sure to ask about rules concerning wedding styling, guest numbers, allocated hours, trash removal, parking, and pre-wedding photography.
  9. Look at your surroundings The natural environment has so much beauty make sure to capture that in your wedding day photographs by choosing a picturesque spot with gorgeous natural elements, such as beautiful trees, breath-taking gardens, the breaking of waves or even a cliff top backdrop.
Don't
Worry!! We are here to make every step of the way stress free even on the day. So don't know where to start, ASK US!
We will ensure your wedding ceremony is simply magical, weather it be outside or inside when mother nature doesn't like us.

Why should couples book with you?
